Msc international Fashion Marketing (Glasgow Caledonian University 2009)
Having directed Fashion Shoots for 6 years, Sarah enjoys working with photographers, Models & Make-up Artists. She puts the model at ease with her warm & friendly manner, helping the model find poses that work well for her and that show the clothing and accessories to their best.
As well as working as a Stylist, Sarah runs an online vintage store and therefore is the go-to girl for anything vintage, unusual, beautiful or fantastically hideous (if that is what you desire). She also has an extensive stylist kit full to the brim of wardrobe staples and accessories like bags, shoes and set props. She loves to hunt down that special item for shoots from her huge list of secret fashion haunts. All budgets catered for, even non-existent ones as she is an expert blagger!
Sarah is also a photographer with loads of fashion photography experience and a full and varied portfolio, however, she would prefer to concentrate on styling at this moment in time.
Fashion Styling is an art form just like Photography, Modeling, Hair Styling and Make-up Artistry. Stylists are often involved in brainstorming ideas for themed shoots and also work from pre-determined briefs, picking and choosing what the models should wear, what props should be used and dressing the set. Stylists know what colours, fabrics and styles work together, what works well on camera and what colours work with specific hair and eye colours and body shapes. They pay close attention to what is on the catwalk and current trends and they have an encyclopedic knowledge of designers, shops and brands and what is available. Stylists can also find the ideal locations, set the scene, background and provide props to fit in with desired themes.
The Mobo awards, The Herald, The Sunday Herald, H Magazine, Vogue UK, The Coveted Mag, The Skinny, Scot Campus, Re:Union, I-on, The List, BBC, Pistol Whip Vintage, Topshop, Glasgow Craft Mafia, Oxfam, Cancer Research UK, Salvation Army.
Sarah has appeared on BBC Radio Scotland and BBC television.
Sarah currently edits The Coveted Magazine, a publication she founded, dedicated to promoting and supporting the Scottish Fashion Industry.Experience & Qualifications...
